While there are many reasons to row, here

are just three which might interest you:

1.

YOU WILL GET INCREDIBLY FIT

Getting incredibly fit is no brag.  Rowing is considered one of the top ways to develop all over body fitness,

strength, and endurance, both physically and mentally. Of course, it counts as part of your PE credits too!

2.

YOU WILL HAVE GREAT FUN DOING IT

Working hard together and learning the skill of rowing is a tremendously bonding experience. You learn to trust your fellow rowers in ways not found in many other sports because you all have to work together to make the boat go fast - and that is our aim, to make the boat go as fast as possible. The process is not necessarily easy, but it is fun, extremely satisfying, and builds disciplines and experiences which will set you up for life.

3.

IT ADDS IMMENSE WEIGHT TO YOUR COLLEGE APPLICATION

Let's face it, you want to go to the best college you can. Well, if you are a good rower and you have the grades, having crew on your application may well be the breaker between you and another equally well positioned candidate without crew. Additionally, you may find yourself approached by colleges because of your rowing, and possibly colleges you had not thought of because you might have underestimated yourself!

FINAL THOUGHTS

The best way to find out whether rowing is for you, or for someone you know, is to come and chat to our coaches and our rowers, some of whom started their rowing careers just a few months ago and are already hooked.  We can then arrange for you to join us for a few outings without obligation and let you experience the world of rowing. We can have you join the coaches on the chase boat (the boat from which they teach and guide the crew) and then at another outing give you the chance to experience rowing by putting you in the boat.

For more information, visit our "Plan a Visit" page, or drop us a line and let's chat about what we have to offer you.

We look forward to meeting you.
